My mom comes tomorrow! So all of today I have been cleaning and reorganizing things. I organized Wu's closet... i dont think she will look in there but she might, ha! She knows that I am cleaner than her anyways, but she is a better deep cleaner while I am a better mess-keeper-awayer. ha! Anyways! I have been washing clothes and vaccuming, and cleaning the kitchen and bathroom.

I went to Walmart got Dr. Pepper and Pepsi (Dr. for my mom, and pepsi for trish) and some diet coke for myself my new found love... how can you say no to NO calories. haha! Also got a ton of candy because they love their sweets. Twix (wu) mounds, almond joys (me and my mom), and butterfinger(trish) (who am i kidding I will eat any candy! ha!). Then I ran across the way to the asian super store area, where I got some fruit. Fruit is so cheap at Ranch 99. Then i walked over to the Hong Kong bakery and got some dawn-tots for me and wu. (Only 4 since I know we will eat them all tonight.... so I have to only buy a couple otherwise we will just eat them all!)

Oh wu just called bringing home CHIPTOLE! weeeee!! Havent had any since the spicy epsoide. I was eating with the normal salsa I normally get (medium) and it was SOOOO spicy. I dont know what happend there because it was the spiciest thing I have ever eaten.. and i eat alot of spicy food. I was choking and coughing and eyes were watering like mad. I had to stop eating, grrr! It must have been a spicy batch or something becuase I have thought about moving up to hot salsa since the medium isnt normally spicy! GR! that was so weird! Oh speaking of spicy food... rooster sauce in normal chickhen noodle soup (from a can) amazing. Tryed that today for lunch... made my life better, because now I can eat yummy soup all the time woot!

So tomorrow we are just going to drive around and show them san HO, santa clara, our apt. stuff around our apt. etc. eat... and stuff. should be fun. Then sunday off to SF and the warf. My mom will like all the little shops and the ocean. Maybe we will go to the wax museum or the aquarium or something. wee! Then on monday I think i will take them to Santa Cruz to see the water and eat lunch and just hang out. Maybe me and my mom will go look for halloween decorations for my place! hee hee!

Santa Clara University Here I come!

So last night I went to an info session at Santa Clara University. I was a little scared since I had the application done, and it is due on Oct. 2....so I was scared that if I found out something I didn't know before I would be so stressed and maynot be able to turn it in on time. I did not find this to be the case! Wee! (Hopefully... i did it all correctly!)

I actually submitted my application this morning at 11:00am and now I just need to wait for someone to get back to me about my interview. I am SO excited about going there, it is where I want to go.

The campus is just so pretty, I wouldnt say it is better than UW because it looks SO different. Santa Clara is mission style, while UW is gothic (not an art person here ha). I would say Santa Clara looks better just because all the bulidings are the same, so it flows really nicely. Where UW has some bulidings that are just awesome, and then there is Lowell. Ha!

Anyways! So last night on my way home from the session. I was doing the math.... By going to EDCC and never living in the dorms I saved about 30000. Santa Clara will cost me 30000 dollars to get my creditals and my masters. TO ME, the price is high, but I am starting to think I deserve it. The last 4 years did not go the way the other people last 4 years went. Garrett is a prime example. He got to go to UW all 4 years and live in the dorms all 4 years. So HIS PARENTS (not unlike many other parents.. just not ours...) spent 30000 dollars for him to do that. WHY shouldn't I spend that one myself for something and a program I want to do. I know it is silly because I will probably make that my first year of teaching, but that means one year and then I am debt free. So in 3 years I will make some cash and get me a new car. Just think of the awesome hybrids they will have at that point. (in the year 2000....... ha!)

Side note: I hope that i dont talk this up some much that the gods of universitys decides that I dont get in! That would be so sad.

Gosh not to mention this school is 10 miles back and forth from my house. GOSH! No commute, that would be awesome. True San Jose is like 14 miles away but they dont have a masters program with an emphais in science.

Oh when I told the speakers (at the info session when I was asking a question) that I was a single subject crediental/ Masters in Enviromental Literacy... the one mans was so shocked and they were both like OH you will have NO problems... getting into the masters program. ha ha WEE! My degree makes me special, because science teachers are hard to find. That means a good job in the future for me! haha! (I hope!)

The one bummer of the night, was the speaker told me that most people do not get any kind of fin. aid, because their studnets dont need it. Oh.... thats nice for them. Damn it for living in a filthy rich area. gosh. But it was nice because when I was leaving one of them Alums who is now a teacher pulled me aside and said that the program is WORTH it. She said that if I could make the money work that I would be so happy there, and that she had skills that her peers dont beacause she went to santa clara. I was happy to hear that coming from a teacher. I knwo she is an alum but she isnt stupid, if she thought it would be too much money for someone I dont think she would say that. I mean she doesnt work for them, she was just there to support her school. I would try to put someone in debt to say OH go to UW for all 4 years even though you TOLD me you have no money. I would say GO to community college if you really have no money.

Anyways! I am just so excited! I will know in about 3 weeks what their answer is, but I bet I will know before that. Everyone seems so nice there, and its so refreshing after going to a huge school. Small class sizes etc... that is what I like. I liked it when I was at uw becuase I could hide my stupidity, but now I NEED to learn this stuff because it is going to directly effect my career. WEE!

Well, today I went to my first tutoring session for YES reading. It is at Montigue Elementary schools and is about 5 mins from my apt. Its a run down elementary school like the one I went to as a kid! Wee for outdoor schools, ha! My tutoring time is from 850-1030, and I tutor two kids. Each are tutored for 40 mins, and they are both at the beginning reader stage. They have problems sounding out words etc. My first tutoriee was a little girl and I got to do a little getting to know you activity with her which was fun. She is going to be 7 in a month and gets a hamster! ha ha! And she told me how her old dog is now in ashes in a box. KIDS LOVE To tell you about their dead pets. Its a trend I dont really understand... I dont remember doing that, oh well. So then we got to work which conssids of me reading for 5-10 mins to her from a book of her choice. She choose a chapter book because OOh it had a horse on it! ha.... so the book is not for a 2nd grader and really indept about horses. (basically boring! I was bored ha!) But I asked her to summerize what I had just read and she got the gest of it. I am always amazed at how smart kids are. Then we started working on the lesson... the long vs. short A sound. Crap... I am not very good at this phonics stuff at all! jeeze. So i guess I will be learning RIGHT along with them. Then after that she reads to me from a little short story about dale the frog that doesnt want to get out of bed. his blanket is a leaf. ha! So then it was time for her to go and my next tutoriee came. He is a little boy, and english must be his second lang.... I have no idea what his first lang. would be but he had a little accent. Plus he didnt sound out words in the way that we all would... Anywho! We did the same stuff...and of course he loves FOOTBALL. ha ha. So we chatted a little bit and he told me he loves PE and I said I hated PE. Then he picked a book for me to read.... baby animals! ha ha! wee who doesnt love baby animals. But it has a pic of a bull being born. Just a chartoon drawing so not that bad... but still little weird. ha ha... the volunteer coordinator was laughing at me trying to explain the pic to the little boy. Oh see its being born.....ha weird. Hey I didnt pick the book he did! Then we went on to his lesson about the FL sound.. and the gl sound. ect.... That one was harder because that is hard to sound out. Ha and there was a funny situation where I showed him a pic of a sled and he is suppost to tell me what it is... but he had no idea. ha ha its CA of couse he doesnt know what a sled is. He also didnt know what a globe was... but he its 2nd grade its all good. so all and all it was a good first experiance. The kids are really cute and I look forward to getting to know them. I hope I am going to be a good tutor to them... since I can barely read myself. SIGH! ha

Anyways on other news... I have to go get some of my fillings tomorrow! BOOOOO! Don't want to go. Its going ot be like 4oo for them all to get done. just think of all the pretty clothes I could have for that.

My contacts are really fuzzy today. Giving me a headache. Will go take them out in about 15 mins. Then I am going to finish up my essay once and for all and then go work out! wee!

UW starts today! wee UW YEAH! I kind of wish I was starting classes but I am also so glad to be done with my undergrad. It just feels good to be done with it, but I really want to get started on the next chapter, grad school!!!!!! Can't wait! Alright going to go work on that.
